Cheat Gainer
A cheat gainer is a backflip launched from a stepping one-footed takeoff: a cheat setup walks momentum across the bed, the swinging leg kicks toward the opposite shoulder, and the arms throw up and around to carry the flip over. On a garden trampoline the timing runs slower than on grass β the takeoff foot has to wait for the bed to load and lift before the kick goes, so the entry becomes step, step, pause, swing rather than one continuous snap. It builds in stages: one-footed bounces to get stable on the bed, then a flat cheat 360 with no lean, then a little more backward lean each round until the rotation tips fully upside down. Since takeoff and landing each ride on one foot on a moving surface, the ankles take the strain, and the same step pattern taken off both feet doubles as a low-fear bridge into the standing backflip.
Key cues
- Practice one-foot bounces mid-bed first
- Step out then over onto the takeoff foot
- Wait for the bed to lift before kicking
- Kick the swing leg toward the opposite shoulder
- Add backward lean a little at a time
