Kong Vault

1 · Beginnerparkour🏟️ Floor

The kong vault sends the body straight over an obstacle head first: a dive off both feet, both hands planted on top, knees tucked through between the arms, feet landing beyond. The takeoff is a split-step into a two-foot punch with the hips kept low on approach β€” coming in tall or taking off too close leaves no room to dive and load the hands. Once the hands touch, the work is an active push through bent arms and fingertips, hips lifted high and back level, so the hands leave the surface before the feet swing through. The universal fear and the universal failure is clipping the feet, which every coach solves the same way: more hip lift, a harder push, and a tighter knee tuck rather than longer legs dragged flat across. It builds safely from ground kongs and pop-ups onto a low ledge, then kong-ups, before committing to clearing the whole obstacle, with thumbs gripping the edge so the palms cannot slip.
